The Snail Club

Aimed at mature gentlemen with high moral standards and a clean lifestyle. – 65 years of age and a DGU card are required if membership is desired.

Team, partner, and individual games are played on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with a meeting time of 9:15 a.m.

The Snail Club is a club within the club, whose purpose is to promote golf among mature gentlemen. From the age of 60, you can apply for trial membership... If the mental and physical condition of these men shows such a decline that they can meet the general conditions, they will be able to obtain the same rights – after an appropriate period of time – as the other members. As part of the Snail Club's code of ethics, there is a right and a duty to mock – both on and off the course. Bullying is, of course, not permitted.

The annual membership fee is 100 kroner, which primarily goes toward a very active funeral fund, operated on a “first come, first served” basis.

The Snail Club's management consists of a chairperson.

The chairperson shall

  1. Start today's game and finish it.
  2. Organize the annual outing and general meeting – if possible during Fanøugerne.
  3. Apply to FVG for subsidies for both the excursion and the General Meeting.
  4. Knowing that he is up for election every year – and constantly subject to criticism
  5. ALWAYS be right.

Activity

Play 9 holes of golf 3 times a week. The green fee is 20 kr. In team play, the 3 best scores on each hole count—3-person teams play with “Pedro”.
Each player on the winning team receives 40 kr.
The winner of the individual competition receives 40 kr – 2nd place receives 30 kr and 3rd place receives 20 kr.
With 8 players or fewer – team play only.
If a player qualifies for prizes in both the team and individual competitions, only one prize will be paid out. The lower amount goes to the funeral fund.

Handicap:
FVG’s conversion table for 9-hole rounds serves as the basis for calculating an individual’s score over 9 holes. Fractions are rounded down to whole numbers. The season is divided into two parts:

  1. Track opening – track closure
  2. Winter track opening – winter track closing

The same two times form the basis for re-regulation. Today's winner is deducted one stroke – valid until the next re-regulation.
