About the club
Fanø Vesterhavsbads Golfklub one of Denmark’s oldest golf clubs. It was founded in 1948 by a group of golf-loving vacationers and summer home owners who were visiting Fanø and playing on the golf course, which had been established as early as 1898 as the very first golf course in Denmark.
Today, the golf club has a large number of Danish and international members who enjoy playing on the over 100-year-old links course, which is beautifully integrated into the dune landscape on the northern part of the island.
As a golf club, we host many open golf tournaments every year, just as Fanø Golf Links hosts its traditional Fanø Weeks every year in late July, which you can also sign up for—see more atwww.fanoe-golf-links.dk.
Around 1900, the area around Fanø Bad was a very fashionable resort. Many of the beautiful old summer homes from that era can still be seen in the area. Unfortunately, the large hotels that once dominated the area around the golf course are no longer there. However, there are plenty of photos and documentaries from the Fanø Bad area available on YouTube.
We’ve put together a small selection of these clips here on the site—so sit back and enjoy the photos from Fanø Bad’s heyday!
